The Rhine Falls, myth, home to medieval castle and a spectacular feature of nature. Europe’s biggest waterfall, in that it carries the most water, can be seen from all sides. A beautiful view is provided downstream from the Rhine Falls bridge; you’re close when you reach the platform at Schloss Laufen Castle. At Schlössli Wörth pool you have not only an incredible panoramic view, but can also hop into any of the pleasure boats from here and feel the cool spray from the Falls on your face.
At the Rhine Falls:
Hold your heart, O traveler, fast in powerful hands!
Mine almost tumbled, trembling with delight.
Restlessly, thundering masses upon thundering masses are thrown,
Where can ear and eye save themselves in the tumult?
Truly, the giant here would not hear his own cry of rage,
Were he to lie, fallen from heaven, down at the bottom...
Eduard Mörike
The boat trips to the Rhine Falls depart from Schlössli Wörth.
