Eating and drinking
There is a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, bistros, wine cellars, snack bars and places to shop all around Lake Constance. That is why we do not offer half board. In Germany and Austria, an evening meal costs approx. 15-25 € per person; in Switzerland approx. SFR 20-40. You can, of course, eat more economically or even more exquisitely.

You want to spend your holiday actively, riding your bike, and you need clean, but not necessarily luxurious accommodation? Then this is just the right tour for you. Cycle all around the lake and enjoy the beautiful countryside on a holiday that offers just the right mixture of culture and nature, action and relaxation. It’s not too hard on your wallet, so you could even splash out on a candlelight dinner! On this tour, you need a certain level of basic fitness. It is not suitable for small children. Also available as comfort type.

Day 1 Arrival in Constance
Particularly worthy of visiting are the Island of Mainau, the historic town centre and the Sea Life Centre.

Day 2 Constance - Radolfzell, approx. 50 km/31 mi
Cycle route along the romantic Lower Lake, Hermann-Hesse Museum, medieval Stein am Rhein.

Day 3 Radolfzell - Friedrichshafen, approx. 60 km/37 mi
Tour along the Überlingen Lake, passing the pilgrimage church of Birnau and romantic Meersburg.

Day 4 Friedrichshafen - Höchst, approx. 60 km/37 mi
You pass small attractive villages and the island town of Lindau. We recommend visiting the lake stage in Bregenz.

Day 5 Höchst - Constance, approx. 55 km/34 mi
Tour through Switzerland; many lakeside cafes, places to bathe and the Saurer lorry museum.

Day 6 Departure or extended stay
The tour ends after breakfast. If you like, extend your cycle tour on Lake Constance.

Arrival to "Lake Constance Cycle Path":

  • Parking facilities in Constance:
    Most hotels offer unguarded parking, prices range between 40 and 80 €/week, pre-booking is not possible. Alternatively, there are free parking facilities in residential areas - Constance is very safe.
  • Arriving by train:
    The hotels located in the historical centre are only a few walking minutes from Constance’s main railway station. For the hotels in the district of Lizelstetten, there is a direct bus (number 4) that departs right in front of the station. For the hotels in the Petershausen area we recommend taking a taxi, which usually costs around 9 €.
  • Arriving by plane at Zurich airport:
    Distance to Constance approx. 70 km / 43 miles, there is a good train connection.
    Price for a single ticket to Constance: approx. 30 SFR/ 25 €.
    Price for a German taxi to Constance: approx. 150 € per car.
  • Booked rental bikes can be picked up at the bike station in the city centre.
